Granada and Alhambra

The city of Granada in Andalusia, Spain, is a true mecca of positivity and good humor. So why not a bachelor party trip to Granada? No wonder Granada is very popular with bachelor party groups from all over Europe. The city is besieged by party people every weekend. Due to the short distances and the high density of bars and restaurants, it is really uncomplicated and exuberant to rumble.

In Granada you can even rent a donkey for bar hopping, on which the bride or groom is led through the city – where else can you do that? At the latest when you enjoy the sunset at one of the most popular viewpoints over Granada with a Tinto de Verano, you know that you have made absolutely the right decision.

Things to know about Granada

Granada is the capital of the province of Andalusia. A good quarter of the nearly 232,000 inhabitants are students, which explains the city’s carefree and fun-loving flair. Granada is characterized by its many important historical buildings such as the Alhambra Fortress, the Cathedral and the Albaicín district.

Since Granada is only about an hour’s drive from both the Mediterranean coast and the nearest ski resort in the Sierra Nevada, it is possible to both ski and lounge on the beach on some days. Those who want to see the city from above can do so from the two most famous viewpoints (miradores): San Nicolás and San Miguel.

From San Nicolás you have a spectacular view of the Alhambra. You should definitely look here even after dusk. From San Miguel you can alternatively enjoy a panoramic view of Granada and the surrounding area. Tip: start the ascent with snacks and drinks in the early evening and end the day with a magnificent sunset – the ideal start for the stag party in Granada.

Stag party in Granada: how to get there?

The easiest way to reach Granada is by air: direct flights to the coastal city of Malaga depart regularly from Vienna, Munich or Memmingen. If you book early, you can get round-trip flights for less than €200.

The fact that the area is very popular with bachelor parties becomes apparent at the latest when arriving at Malaga airport: numerous party people make their way from the airport to the various towns on the Costa del Sol.

Depending on the size of your group, you can rent a car directly at the airport for your entire stay in Andalusia or use one of the many bus connections to Granada. Both by car and by bus you need about 90 minutes for the route. A bus ride is also very reasonable with a price of about 9 €.

Where to stay in Granada?

In Granada itself you can get good accommodation depending on the size of your wallet. In the center of the city there are various hotels, hostels or even whole apartments where you can rent according to your personal preferences. For larger poltergroups we recommend renting an apartment via AirBnB or booking.com for the polter trip to Granada.

Another plus is that everything in the center is within walking distance, so in the rarest cases you are dependent on public transport – ideal for the stag party.

What can be done?

Visit the Alhambra

The Alhambra, the famous Moorish fortress, towers over the city with its glowing red color and is one of the most visited Spanish sights with over 10 million visitors annually. Don’t miss a visit to the Alhambra with your wedding party. Due to the large crowds, however, you should definitely book your tickets in advance, e.g. here*.

Granada itself is not directly on the beach, but the sea is not far. So if you are staying for several days, an excursion to the sea is a good idea – for example this catamaran tour with drinks and lunch* or this snorkeling tour*. If you have a rental car, you can of course just drive yourself.
